Radiant Barrier

SolarGuard reflective insulation greatly increases comfort in a host of residential and commercial applications. The foil in SolarGuard can reflect up to 93% of radiant energy striking it. SolarGuard consists of 1/4 in. of fiberglass core bonded to either two layers of 99% pure aluminum in the residential product line.

SolarGuard designed for residential use is perforated on both layers of aluminum. Residential SolarGuard has a 1-1/4 in. staple tab on both sides. In the commercial product line, the same 1/4 in. of fiberglass core is bonded to one layer of aluminum and either one layer of durable white scrim reinforced facing or one layer of RFSK scrim reinforced facing material. The scrim reinforced commercial SolarGuard products act as a vapor retarder and are not perforated. Commercial rolls have Versi-Tab technology, with one tab at 1-3/4 in. and the other at 3-3/4 in., which allow for either fold-and-staple or the lap tab technique to be used when sealing the seams.
